Are Motor Scooters Safe? Yes and No!
Motor scooters, both electric scooters and gas scooters, are a style of motorcycle that have a step through frame and have become a very popular method of travel all over the world. They have been scooting out of show rooms at record speed. But what many people do not realize is that motor scooters are classified as motor vehicles when it comes to highway regulations. And although they are an object of desire for many they can also be dangerous for many. They are typically regulated by state laws as either motorcycles or mopeds and are subject to many of the same regulations as other motor vehicles. With a careful and alert driver a scooter can be as safe as any other vehicle on the road. But accidents frequently occur when motor scooter drivers think they are exempt from the conventions that apply to automobiles. Motor scooters (sometimes called mopeds or go peds) are commonly purchased for use by children and teenagers, most of whom do not even possess a valid license to drive. Licensed drivers have had a certain amount of training behind the wheel of a car, unlike many motor scooter drivers under the age of 16. Without proper training children and young teenagers can easily find themselves in positions that experienced drivers normally would not. Darting in and out of traffic with little driving experience, on a motor scooter that is so small it cannot be seen by other drivers, poses a hazard to both the scooter driver and other motorists traveling the highway. To be safe a motor scooter driver must think of himself as being invisible to the other drivers making their way down the busy streets. A scooter driver cannot assume that other drivers will see them. A safe approach for a scooter driver would be to assume that they are completely invisible to other drivers and then act accordingly. A motor scooter rider must be ready to maneuver out of harm’s if another driver makes a sudden unexpected movement. Being safe means staying alert at all times. Being safe also means following the rules of the road and not making unnecessary or risky moves in traffic that would cause their moped scooter to dart out in front of another moving vehicle. Automobile drivers must have time to react to a scooter driver’s movements. There are many reasons to own a motor scooter. They are often used for traveling short distances around the neighborhood to perform errands. Due to their size, fuel-efficiency, weight, and typically larger storage room than a motorcycle, they are ideal in this situation. But in the hands of the youth, without any previous driving experience, they can be deadly. The ATV, go carts, dirt bikes and mini bikes are other vehicles that are often owned and operated by younger drivers. ATVs are usually used off road along with dirt bikes and mini bikes. Go karts are typically driven on paved tracks specifically made for the go cart. The go kart, mini bike, dirt bike or ATVs don’t usually get out on the open road where there are cars to contend with. Therefore they also avoid many of the dangers that scooter drivers must face. Motor scooters are the latest craze, especially among the youth market looking for a quick, cheap form of transportation. These youths can be too young to own a driver’s license, and the result is a dangerous situation. They are more popular than ever, but as their popularity grows, people’s awareness of driving regulations has not kept pace, especially among the younger generation. Kids often think of motor scooters as toys, not as adult vehicles. But a scooter is not a toy. It’s a potentially dangerous motor vehicle subject to certain laws and regulations. Also, youth often think of themselves as being immune to automobile driving regulations and immune to accidents as well. “It won’t happen to me” is a very common attitude among the youth. But it’s precisely this attitude that can get them into trouble. People need to be aware of the potential motor scooter dangers and take appropriate action. Scooter riders should pay special attention while driving, making sure not to drive erratically, but to be predictable and courteous to other drivers on the road. Both kids and adults need training and experience before attempting to maneuver their scooters out in traffic. If parents will take a little time to train their children, making sure they are aware of the rules of the road before they are allowed to travel on them, it could make driving a pleasure instead of a danger. With a little training and some wise words of advice we can all make a difference in the lives of the youth. Give them some training and experience and their motor scooters may be an object of fun instead of injury.J Larry Alan is an enthusiast of motor scooters.
Harley Davidson Symbolizes The Spirit Of Freedom And Strength
Nothing, and I mean nothing, to me symbolizes the spirit of freedom and strength more than a Harley Davidson Ever since Hell’s Angels gained notoriety and biker gangs started their wild roaming through the interstates of the United States, the Harley Davidson has been synonymous with classic themes of focused passion and power, most especially rock and roll music . .As a rock fanatic and a biker myself, the Harleys have long had a very special place in my heart If you’re thinking of owning one just because you’ve got tons of money and want to show off how rich you are, I am going to wholeheartedly tell you now, DON’T You’ll give the real bikers and rockers out there a bad name Not to mention you’ll look funny, and everyone will be laughing at you behind your back Or in your face, depending on how polite they are . . .Okay, that said and done, let’s talk about the bike Harleys have pretty much set a trend and there are tons of posers out there that have come up with easy riders that try to at least imitate the bad-boy look of a Harley Davidson The real bikers spend most of their time laughing their butts off at these imitations . .There is no way to counterfeit the look, the feel, and the sound of a real Harley Making a line of Harley look-alikes is like trying to take a mule and asking it to pretend it’s a thoroughbred stallion No comparison, end of story . .I could go on about the specs of the machine, but that’s not the point A Harley isn’t about numbers and figures like RPMs in the motor It’s something you have to ride to experience and understand If your heart doesn’t match up with the spirit of the bike, if you don’t like rock and roll and are afraid of things like noise, power, roaming around, and change, then the experience of riding the bike will most likely terrify you Like a wild horse sensing a newbie rider, the bike will most likely throw you at the first opportunity . .It’s not for everyone, I can honestly say That’s what makes the Harley so special It’s all about attitude, and loving the concepts of freedom, chaos, and living life to the fullest If you think you can handle that, then give a Harley a try, and see if you’ve got what it takes to run with the pack .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

A Buyers Guide to Motor Scooters!
With so many different types of motor scooters available today buyers must do their homework before making a purchase. Vespa, Honda, Piaggio, big engine, small engine, gas, electric, mobility, foldable, seats, handgrips, where do I start? Before the 1920s it was an easy decision, a foot-powered push scooter or none at all. But once Gino Tsai from Shanghai, Taiwan developed the Razor scooter it changed everything. His motor scooters became popular so quickly there were people waiting in line for six months before they could get one. In the 1950s companies like Vespa in the UK started selling the first of their gas motor scooters. It was a big hit at the 1950 Motorcycle Show and quickly became a big hit in the UK as well. Vespa sold over 125,000 in the UK between the years of 1950 to 1958. Piaggio from Vespa and Lambretta from Innocenti started selling their models in Italy and France too, quickly becoming the vehicles that everyone had to own. By the early 1950s the sale of motor scooters topped 1 million a year in France alone. Because of its popularity other countries such as France and Germany decided to get in on the boom by manufacturing their own models. Today, after more than 50 years since the first gas scooters appeared, there are many different makes and models. We have electric, gas powered, foldable, mobility and utility motor scooters dotting the globe. There are specialized scooters for just about every task. They have become a worldwide phenomenon because they are cheap to own, economical to operate, are very handy and functional, and most of all they are a lot of fun. But with all of the makes and models which one is right for you? Let’s start with the different types. Gas motor scooters are the fastest around. They will take you longer distances and reach higher speeds than any of the other varieties. There are smaller and lighter models that will be perfect for running errands around town while the larger and heavier touring models will take you on longer trips. Plus, the larger the gas tank the farther you can travel before needing to stop at a service station. Electric varieties are a little more economical to run, but will usually travel only about 10 or 15 miles before needing a recharge. Their battery capacity has improved dramatically over the years, but they cannot be taken for long trips due to the fact that their batteries will need recharging periodically. However, for short trips around the city they are wonderful little vehicles. Plus, most scooters have a large storage capacity under the seat so they are ideal for trips to the grocery store or for other light shopping sprees. The elderly or handicapped typically use what is referred to as mobility scooters. These are usually electric models and have 3 or 4 wheels for extra stability. These models give the elderly or disabled the ability to get about in their homes or around the neighborhood more easily. Without mobility scooters many of the disability-impaired would be confined to their beds. Another very popular type is the foldable scooter. These are very small and are made for short trips around town. They are particularly popular among the younger crowds. The beauty of these models is that they are extremely compact and can be folded for storage in small places. If you work just a few miles from your home you can travel to work on your folding scooter and then fold it up and put it underneath your desk at work. Very handy. There are also utility scooters which can be used for many different purposes. They can be used as golf carts or for hauling things. Many big businesses use these types for getting around their factories. Schools use them for driving through the parking lot, checking for cars that shouldn’t be there. Major league sports stadiums use them to drive people from one place to another. These are wonderful vehicles that can be used for a variety of reasons. Once you’ve decided which type is right for your needs the next step is to figure out what options, if any, you would like included on your vehicle. Of course you can choose from many different colors and designs, but there are other options available to you. You can choose from the many varieties of covers, locks (for security), cases or side bags for storage, helmets, seats, handgrips, windshields or windscreens, backrests for touring, chrome kits, rear luggage racks and many more options. The list of accessories can go on for quite some time. As a rule of thumb first choose the type of scooter you want, whether it be electric, gas, foldable or utility. This is the easy part because the type you purchase will depend upon your needs. Once that decision has been made look at several popular models in your area and decide which one looks and feels right to you. Most have accessories that are manufactured for a specific model so accessories cannot be decided upon until you know which motor scooter you are going to buy. Once you’ve decided which accessories you want for the model you chose it’s a simple matter of driving your scooter out of the dealership. And it’s nothing but fun from there on out.Cheap motor scooters are lots of fun, which is why Larry Johnson is a motor scooter fanatic. He not only loves to ride motor scooters, but loves writing about them as well.
Leather Motorcycle Accessories As Protective Gear
Motorcycle accessories are a broad term and include items from protective gear up to stuff that make your motorcycle move faster Leather accessories usually include just (protective) gear, clothes and luggage items that you use when you ride It depends on the type of bike you own what type of leather motorcycle accessories you’ll need But it also depends on how much you ride, if you ride all year round or just in summer and of course it depends on your budget . .To be honest there are leather accessories for every budget and with online auction sites these days you can also buy second hand gear If you are a typical weekend only rider on a small budget that might be a very good option Its better to safe money then to see your expensive motorcycle accessories sit around unused . .On the other side if you are the type of bike rider that likes to show of their bike and gear and takes pride in complementary style bike and leather accessories then there is also enough to enjoy In that case it does not matter if you are a frequent rider or if you like to show what you own you need the very best quality stuff . .If your the kind of motorcycle rider that rides often and in many different types of weather then you should look for motorcycle accessories made out of leather that will protect you like safety gear, helmets and gloves because your life could depend on durable and reliable gear . .Leather motorcycle accessories for beginners . .Most people who just have bought their first bike get carried away and would like to buy all of the motorcycle accessories they see and like Most of the time this is not the the best choice they can make because your tastes and knowledge will grow when you ride more However, there are several accessories that you will need immediately and that you should purchase right away . .Wear a helmet at all times, this is an absolute must There are states that don’t have a helmet law, but it’s essential that you do wear one A helmet will protect your head and face from the trauma that usually occurs with a crash Without a helmet a crash can cause extensive damage, even at slow speed, so it is necessary to wear a helmet at all time Luckily there are great leather helmets available, some will look kind of retro but will have the latest protective technology underneath . .Another essential motorcycle accessories is the leather jacket, it’s not just to look cool, it also protects you from the elements while you are riding and from the damage in case of a crash You are completely exposed on a bike, so you need to protect yourself when riding . .The last leather accessories that are essential are a good pair of gloves that will keep your hands protected from the elements and help you keep a strong grip Leather gloves often overlooked because many people don’t believe they need them In fact they are essential to help keep you safe and on the road . .As you see there are many leather motorcycle accessories that you’ll need and there will be even more that you want to add as you become more experienced, but as a beginner these three are the most important You can buy new gear or you can look online for used motorcycle accessories made out of leather This can safe you a lot of money and because it is leather it will even look better when it is used Just make sure that it is in good condition .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

Why I Like Classic Car & Cycle People!
While watching the TV news, I was appalled at how many people can’t just get along, to quote Rodney King. It is truly a very sad situation. Then I thought about all the different types of people we have at our event and how well they all get along. In the 18 years we have been doing our events, we have never had any trouble with the participants at our shows. Bikers, Low Riders, Classic Cars, Hot Rodders, Sports Cars types and Tuner owners, they all attend our classic car & cycle show and all of them have a great time. Don’t get me wrong, they all have different likes and dislikes, but they are tolerant of their fellow gear heads. The world could learn a lot from Gear Heads! Learn to appreciate the other person’s point of view. Low Riders always draw a crowd when they put their vehicles through their “dance”. Now I’m not at all interested in having a car that hops, but I sure can appreciate the work and engineering that goes into allowing thousands of pounds of Chevy to bounce six feet off the ground. I also don’t want a car with 1000 horsepower with a blower sticking out of the hood. but I sure do enjoy checking out those types of cars at the car shows. The way I see it, we are all different and we should revel in these differences not curse them. Diversity makes the world an interesting and fun place to live in. It’s a shame that some people feel its either their way or the highway. Whether its religion, politics or drive trains, we all need to love our neighbors and that which makes them unique. If the world was made of Classic Car and Cycle People, what a wonderful place it would be! See Ya There!

Ebike @Rs 10000 upwards
May I take the opportunity to introduce ourselves as promoters of E-bike in India under the name of E-bike India Pvt Ltd, a pioneer company in import and assembly of battery operated cycles. You will appreciate that this concept is brand new in India and shall change the way we commute in a massive fashion especially for marketing, delivery, office work or even simply for leisure. The bike is the same as used on the road except that the conversion takes place to a motorized version which uses battery for its power including recharge each day. Thus there is no fatigue, noise, pollution or utilization of petrol as a source of energy. The turnaround of the bike is upto 45 Km, speed 25 Km and the rider can yet pedal if one so wishes. As an Industrialist, Factory Owner or Retail Businessman, you will appreciate that your workers get sapped of their energy before even arriving for work besides getting delayed through a long haul of pedaling. Just imagine them being possessed of a scooter without worry of petrol or pollution. You shall be further content to note that Battery Operated Vehicles (BOV’s) are being promoted in a big way through assistance by the government in the shape of total exemption of Sale Tax due to depleting sources of oil energy. The cost of E-bike ranges between Rs. 9500.00 to Rs. 12500.00, a very affordable venture for lower strata and with subsidy and or installments through their respective owners, can indeed become very lucrative for the user.
Source: www.ArticlePros.com

Getting The Best Motorcycle For You
There are plenty of benefits to having your own motorcycle but before you get into the actual buying consider some important points that you may want to take note of in order to fully assess your need to buy yourself one of these exciting automobiles . .More than 93% of the time, men want their own motorcycle That is one of the recent data is gathered from a recent regional statistic in the United States and that’s why it’s normal that you want one as well . . .Nevertheless, you have to think about the important talking points before you get your wallet out of your pocket and shell out bucks to cover expenses related to your motorcycle buying . .1 Experience If you are going buy a motorcycle, you need to know your level of experience in terms of driving You might have gained a professional drivers license for your automobile but riding a motorcycle is different from a car Consider these and get yourself out of trouble . .2 Motorcycle rides are one of the most dangerous accidents you will ever engage in according to the US Department of Transportation If you want to know more about motor safety and driving, you may contact Motorcycle Safety Foundation . .3 Motorbike’s Intended Use Note some special considerations on how you would like to use your motorbike Are you young, sport-enthusiast? Go for sport motorcycles If you are someone who enjoys moving around the city with your favorite motorcycle, without becoming rough on the road, you might get yourself a commuting/touring bike . .4 In effect, you may want to consider your lifestyle when trying to move around the market looking for some motorcycles that will surely fit your personality and the way you live your life on a daily basis . .5 Budget There are plenty of considerations that you have to think of before you get yourself a new motorcycle Consider your allotted budget and household priorities Should mortgage come first? Children’s tuition, pending bills, household appliances, etc Keeping yourself interested in buying a motorcycle is OK as long as you have other more important expenses covered . .A decent motorbike would cost one from $4000 to $24000 Talk to your local motorbike dealers and inquire on the most appropriate paying options they have for you inasmuch as motorcycle financing is concerned .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

Trike Kits To Make Your Motorcycle Safer And More Comfortable
Have you been through the stage of wanting to buy a motorcycle and then found that you are worried whether you will feel safe riding one? Or perhaps you have even bought one and are now too frightened about taking it out on the road Whatever your case may be, whether you have the motorcycle or not, you can buy motorcycle trikes or trike kits to give you the stability and safety that you are lacking when you have to ride the motorcycle by itself . .Motorcycle trikes put together the best parts of riding a bike like feeling the wind in your face and the feeling of added stability and safety that you get while driving a car You can also maneuver motorcycles with trike kits through limited space better than you would be able a car or other kind of four wheeled vehicle In more ways than one, these machines give you the ideal compromise between a motorcycle and a car Like on a motorcycle, you can continue to get the thrill of riding one . . .You can ride with extra safety and stability that the extra wheels of the trike kits bring you and you also get extra storage since the vehicle gets that much bigger If you have been postponing your decision about buying one of the motorcycle trikes then think again You may be thinking that the trike is very much outdated But the modern trike is quite different from its predecessors It is not only great to look at and stylish but it gives you additional stability and safety that the motorcycle on its own does not give you In fact the trike has become a status symbol today . .Another difference between the modern trikes and the old ones is that the new ones are more like bikes in appearance rather than like cars That is they are less enclosed, making you feel the rush of the wind in your face as you speed on the motorcycle trikes with your friends Also, the trike kits that you get today give you much better performance as compared to the trikes of the past which were indeed extremely slow . .Given that the motorcycle trikes give you great performance, are fashionable to look at and great where safety is concerned, it is not at all surprising that more and more people are looking to buy trike kits So if you want to still feel like a biker even though you might be afraid to ride a motorcycle, you can choose one of the trike conversion kits and add it to your motorcycle and hit the road without having to worry about your safety You can join other bikers and traverse up and down the country roads which will give you great pleasure .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

Top 5 Things To Know About Motorcycle Insurance
Here you go the top 5 things you need to know about motorcycle insurance; 1. If you ever have a accident make sure it is not your fault. 2. Having full coverage motorcycle insurance does NOT cover any medical costs for you. Check your policy, your passenger may be covered for medical, but you are not, unless you have purchased optional medical coverage. 3. Collision and Comp will only pay for damages, minus your deductible, and will cover only the book value of the motorcycle. If you have a lot of add-ons, or a custom motorcycle you will want to insure your bike for cash value. To do this you will need to get an appraisal and probably several pic’s of your bike, contact your agent, if they won’t insure you this way, drop’m and check out Bike-Line.com. 4. There are insurance companies that specialize in motorcycle insurance, and will insure antique and or multiple motorcycles that you own. You will save some dough, with those that specialize in motorcycle insurance. 5. Road hazard motorcycle insurance is available and runs around $25 bucks a year, which will cover, if you run out of gas, blow a tire, can not get it started, or just plain brake down. Ride safe and double-check your motorcycle insurance coverage.JG Mashino is the author and web-admin at my68flh.com, a motorcycle blog about motorcycling resources, motorcycle news and information
Source: www.ArticlePros.com

Why Do We Ride Motorcycles
I bought my first motorcycle in 1967 It was shortly after my sister’s boyfriend showed up at our house on a brand new Triumph Bonneville My bike was not quite as spectacular The used Allstate 59 scooter had a 3 speed shift on the left side of the handlebar and that classic 2 stroke whine That bike set the hook though, and since then it has been followed by 31 more bikes I have ridden through most of the eastern states and provinces I have continued on in rain, snow, heat and cold I tend to fall often in the woods and have memories and scars from some of the better ones Why do we do it? . .More than 95% of my riding has been alone I like to go where I want to and stop when I want to I feel I do some of my best thinking while riding I am relaxed and focused on riding conditions I tend to let my mind go where it wants to rather than force it in any particular direction This is the opposite of what happens most of the time We are conditioned to think about our challenges and possible solutions The mind actually works better if you give it a problem to solve and go on to something else When I take off on Saturday morning, I have already spent the week thinking about the various challenges in my life It is amazing how often some type of solution pops into my head when I am two hours from home and thinking about lunch . .How many times have you sat on the curb in the parking lot of a distant gas station having a cool drink and watching the world go by? In the normal course of your like, would you do that? Maybe we put up with the discomfort and inconvenience of riding long distances because it allows us to slow down and ponder If that is all there is to it then it is enough for me I think there is more Let me know what you think .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

The Evolution Of Today s Dirt Bike
The evolution of off-road motorcycles, commonly called dirt bikes, is a long and complicated story The first motorcycles were actually nothing more than modified bicycles with attached gasoline engines These powered bicycles were amazing inventions in their day Unreliable, but amazing methods of transportation, these motorcycles began captivating people across the globe Since paved streets were not quite the norm at the time, motorcycles generally could be considered dirt bikes right from the start No single person or company has been credited with the invention of the dirt bike Off-road motorcycling is really an evolution of many years, with better tires, better suspension and seats, stronger frames, and better control features being credited to many individuals who were essentially modifying their own bikes for better off-road use Triumph motorcycles did however design a motorcycle specifically built for dirt riding in 1914, although this model is not actually credited with being the first dirt bike . .Motocross racing seems to have had it origins in Europe, very possibly France with these early motorcycles being raced through wooded trails or racing to the top of a mountainous road for publicity Many of these early races were not races of speed but races against time where riders simply competed against each other on an individual basis Racing expanded as did the production of motorcycles to include scrambles and cross country events which excited and entertained spectators Incidentally, the word motocross was derived from the words motorcycle and cross-country The races would eventually be moved to a shorter, closed track for easier viewing by the spectators and better monitoring of the racers themselves With the world at war and the Great Depression, off-road motorcycles may not have been a priority concept with people for many years but the interest in dirt racing wasn’t about to go away Then Soichiro Honda came along in 1946 with his idea to produce cheap transportation for people after the second world war Honda became the most predominant name in motorcycles and dirt bikes in particular, undoubtedly due to the fact that they are the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world They were joined by other manufacturers over the years who would eventually become household names as well Suzuki produced their first motorcycle in 1954, Yamaha in 1955, and Kawasaki in 1960 Although dirt bikes were still far in the future for the big four, this was the beginning of the onslaught of a motorsport unlike any other Dirt bikes and dirt bike racing would eventually become one of the most popular motorsports in the world . . .After a mix of both two stroke and four stroke motors in various models through the years, Honda finally designs and builds a competitive two stroke motocross motor in 1972 It reached the USA in 1973 and is called the Elsinore CR250 It immediately becomes the fastest production off-road race bike in its class and placed Honda alone at the top of the heap in regard to motocross racing In the 1970’s, motocross racing would finally do what motorcycle manufacturers hoped it would Off-road motorcycling would become a recreational activity not unlike bicycling with its popularity exploding among the general public The big four Japanese manufacturers would eventually produce a full product line of dirt bikes in a variety of sizes for various racing classes and ages Children’s dirt bikes would become available for those early starters and dual-use motorcycles would also become available with dirt tires and suspension along with street-legal features Other manufacturers also joined the specialized dirt bike market including Maico, Gas Gas, and KTM . .To this day, dirt bikes continue their evolution with almost constant improvement in weight reduction, suspension, engine reliability, and overall performance They are used as weekend recreational vehicles by millions of people around the world The world of motocross racing has become more popular than ever before thanks to dirt bike riding basically evolving into an art form Freestyle riding and stunt riding are captivating more young riders every year and the manufacturers continue to respond by producing high quality, cutting edge dirt bikes .
Source: www.rsstnx.com
